PDO MONO THREADS
Mono threads are made from Polydioxanone (PDO) a strong bio-resorbable suture filament which is also known as a synthetic polymer that is able to stimulate the synthesis of collagen and restructure our dermis for ultimate anti-aging effects. PDO threads are able to retain 50% tensile strength within the skin, giving the skin a nice and tight feeling and takes roughly 180 days to breakdown within the skins structure and has a very low tissue reactivity - meaning it causes NO irritation within the skin.

This dissolvable suture material has been used in surgeries worldwide for decades.
Whilst there are a variety of threads available Shine Aesthetics & Beauty prefer to use a mixture of both smooth and barbed threads to give the best overall result.
MONO threads are designed to tighten, thicken and improves the skins texture and appearance of fine lines + wrinkles.

LONG threads are barded and work to lift, tighten and rejuvenate the treated area through the extended stimulation of neocollagenesis (formation of baby collagen fibers) within the dermis. This happens due to the extra barbs and surface area of the thread applying more trauma within the skin, resulting in a more prominent lift + restructure.

Smooth Mono threads are used especially in the face and neck area to promote skin tightening and remodelling of the skin dermis. The threads are placed in areas of heaviness resulting in the body releasing growth factors to breakdown the thread over a 4-6 week period. For most this gives an instant lifting and tightening effect to the skin. Once the thread has dissolved the underlying factors such as collagen, fibrinogen and hyaluronic acid are left in place offering support the skin. This is a minimally invasive treatment with little to no downtime.

Treatment time is approximately 30-45 minutes. An average treatment will be 30-50 threads depending on the size of the treatment area. It is common to have swelling, redness and bruising in the area. This can take 7-14 days to subside depending on bruising.
The final results are often seen at 6-8 weeks and can have an effect for up to 6 Months.
